● TRAVEL LIGHT. Try rolling
your clothes to save space. Assemble toiletries in a separate kit so
that you won't have
to open your luggage to use your toothbrush,
toothpaste and other toiletry just before leaving.
● Bring your own bottled
water if you plan to go to rural areas. Keeping a map, and a Swiss
knife handy is always a
good idea. Don't forget to bring medicine for
cold, flu, headache, and diarrhea. It is also suggested that you
bring antiseptic for cuts and bruises. Also,
bring along plastic bags where you can put in dirty or wet clothes so that
they don't mix with your clean, unused clothes.
● Have a photocopy of your
important documents like your passport when traveling overseas, and store it
in a
different location so that when they get lost,
you still have proof that you have valid documents. Put your a label
with your name and destination on your luggage.
● Don't forget to bring a
camera or a video camera with you to capture those wonderful memories.
● Make sure that all doors
and windows are locked before leaving the house. Also, ask your
neighbor to pick up
your mail and newspapers for you so they don't
pile up.
● Be early! Try to
check in 2-3 hours before your departure time. If you're on a road
trip, check your car before
leaving. Make sure you've got emergency
tools and enough fuel and for the trip.
● Before leaving the plane,
cab, coach or hotel, check your seats, drawers, and cabinets. You
wouldn't want to leave
your important belongings behind.
● Have enough sleep before
your flight, and drink plenty of fluids during and after your flight to avoid
jetlag. |
