CURRENCY

 The Peso (PHP) is the unit of currency.  One (1) peso is equal to 100 centavos (c).  Banks and money changers can be found in malls, travel offices, resorts, and other popular destinations.  Always keep bank notes lower than PHP 100 handy for taxi/jeepney fares, meals or snacks, and other purchases.  Travelers checks are also accepted.  Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, Amex) are accepted in establishments in major cities. It is suggested that travelers bring cash when going to remote areas.
